Class Description
Learn about the magic of natural pigments by tie dyeing your very own creation! We will begin with a short discussion of creating a botanical dye and using regional color followed by a demonstration of various tie dye techniques using pre-prepared dyes. Students will then have studio time to make their own tea towel tie dye creation. At the end of the class, students will take home their fabric and finish by rinsing the next day with cold water.
Price is $30 per person. Payment is due on date of event, cash (preferred) or Venmo.
Bio
Devan Horton is a Northern Kentucky artist who creates paintings that promote mindfulness and awareness of the impact we have on environments. Since receiving her BFA in Painting from Northern Kentucky University, Devan has crafted and promoted her artistic career by exhibiting in local and national galleries. Activism, collectiveness, and a love of the natural world have remained themes in Devan's work since college. Recently, she has launched a series of experiments with sustainable, non-toxic paints, pigments, and regenerative canvas materials.
